Using voicemail on pixel 3 xl
Also, Visual Voice mail is supposed to be transcription of the voice message. In that u see text of the message and do not have to listen to it. Like Google Voice does. So far, i left a few test VMs. And they do not show a transcribed text, but do have local playback option. Voicemail transcription and visual voicemail are two different things.
In fact there are a number of prepaid carriers that offer a visual voicemail app but charge extra for voicemail transcription. I dont agree. U see it, not hear it. But it has been a while since i have used that. How about wikipedia? Never used to be that way. I had full V. M with text for years. Though now i think of it, it may have been a special thing if u had certain top end devices at the time.
Anyway, pointless to pay for that when u can just use Google Voice for free.
Cant Activate Visual Voicemail - T-Mobile
But even the mighty Google, doest do the greatest job of transcribing voicemails. Unless the audio is very clear and loud enough, which it is often not. Not to mention if the person have a accent. Theses days, i have very few people that call me at all. Only one person my mother bothers to leave a VM often.
Even then, i usually ignore it and call her later. So its not really a big deal to have transcription. But it is much nicer to have the VM control in app, and not have to call number and delete message manually to clear pesky notification. This topic was automatically closed 90 days after the last reply. New replies are no longer allowed. Help Help Center Activation Wizard. Trying to get a notification for voice mail. This is a special visual voicemail feature that only works with some carriers. The VM tab does show, and I have the option checked in the menu settings for the Phone app.
I have reset network settings, restarted the phone, and spoken with both T-Mobile and Google. I have yet to be given a reason this is not working. Note: brought the phone over from Verizon but it's unlocked - all other data and voice functionality is good.
My employer's security policy that is adapted when you link up the exchange account whether Gmail, Nine, Bluemail, Outlook, etc is such that is locks down certain "conveniences" of the phone which I live with to have my work email on my phone.
I thought it was successful because, merely seconds after deleting the exchange account, Visual Voicemail in the phone app sprang to life. I then lost it again for good when I tried to install another email client in attempt to try another exchange email connection In advanced settings for the voice mail in the google phone app, what is listed under service and setup? If this isn't setup correctly it won't activate at all.
It is strange that it wont activate then. I have a Pixel 3XL that has visual voice mail running through the phone app. There has to be some kind of software conflict going on, but if you even did a factory format with no exchange server active again it is strange that it wouldn't activate now.Visual Voicemail is Currently Unavailable error on iPhone 7, 8, X, XR, XS Max & 11 Pro Max iOS 13
The only other thing I can think of is if your phone is failing to connect to the visual voice mail server completely. I must say, you've got me stumped, too! I'm not a Pixel user nor do I know of a Pixel user that I could try to get some info from.

Thanks for all the advice and help. Unfortunately this is the end of the road for me. Via support I was told that the engineers advice was to 1 delete the Verizon voicemail app and 2 they can't guarantee that features will work on every phone. Google also said it was a carrier settings issue, which makes sense as their code hasn't changed.

Amanda, is there a way to stay informed about this issue? I am in the same aitsituat but do not plan to leave.
Absolutely, magenta!I am subscribed to the Visual Voicemail version 5. Most of the time, it fails to synchronize my messages to the app. I get a message that says it failed to synchronize messages and to make sure I am connected to the data network.
This is happening whether WiFi is on or off and I'm never in an area where I am not well covered by the T-Mobile network. This is very annoying because I use my phone for business as well as personal calls and I need Visual Voicemail to work consistently! I have the Google Pixel XL. I keep getting the message it failed to connect to server.
Out of nowhere it just quit on me. I'm running version 5. I'm going to rtry and download an earlier version see what happens. But I have cleaned cache deleted everything from storage uninstalled reinstalled many times it keeps saying the same thin. So like I said I'm going to rtry and download an earlier version.
I had this problem too and seemed to have solved it. I got a new Pixel 2 and T-Mobile Visual Voicemail would never sync, regardless of my type of connection. I tried a lot of remedies and nothing worked until I installed an old version of the app. I installed it and it synced to the server correctly. A few days later, it auto updated back to 5. I hope this helps anyone else who is having this frustrating problem. Update: when the auto-update to 5.
I went back to version 5. Unfortunately, it is not possible to turn off auto-updates for just Visual Voicemail; I have to turn off auto-updates for all apps. But since then, Visual Voicemail is continuing to work using the old version. Thanks for chiming in to let us know what's going on with Visual Voicemail. This is something our Engineers are already aware of and are working on fixing. At this time, we don't have an estimate of when it'll be back up and running as it should but we've collected enough examples to move forward with finding a solution.
Once I receive an update, I'll be sure to update this thread. Is there a solution to this long term problem? It's been months since I've been able to use the app, my phone is up to date. Im not getting an error message like some have mentioned, mine won't even open. When installed and reinstalled it asks for permissions to be allowed a show and it closes. I think I can confirm that they're working on this.
